Do you feel like you are holding up your family or friends when you go on holiday because you want to ‘capture the shot’ or ‘wait for the light’ but they just don’t understand or care about photography the way you do?

• Our NZ Photography Tour For Women is FOR YOU, it’s about your love of photography, with like minded women who love photography as much as you do.

NZ South Island is a photographers dream, there is literally a photograph at every turn.

Unlike other photography tours we WON’T be getting up hours before dawn, driving for hours, only to hike for a few more hours to get to the ‘secret sunrise location’. We won’t be doing that.

The NZ South Island is so beautiful you don’t need to move far from your accomodation for incredible sunrises and sunsets with jaw dropping backdrops.

If you LOVE photography? If you LOVE travel. This is for you.

We will spend our days (and some evenings) photographing and experiencing the best of the South Island while mastering your camera and photography skills and knowledge, even if are an absolute beginner – yes that’s right – unlike other photography tours we specialise in the absolute beginner (as well as those with skill!)

Derry’s teaching style is gentle and encouraging.

Derry is your trainer and her style of teaching is gentle and encouraging. Meeting you where ever you are on your photography journey.

Derry will show you how to get the best from your camera and camera settings to guarantee you will take amazing photos as we travel around this beautiful little isle.

You will photograph landscapes, people, buildings, nature, wildlife, all of it!

Your ‘event coordinator extraordinaire’ is Caro. She organises everything: accomodation, food, events, relaxing time and most importantly transporting us safely to and onward from each location.

All you need to worry about is which lens, what setting and which subject you will photograph.

This photography tour is as much about having fun, laughs (and hopefully making new friends) as it is about challenging and extending your photography knowledge and skills but not so much you that you ‘get lost’ in the technicalities.

A perfect mix of seeing, experiencing and photographing this incredible little island.

Derry’s style of teaching photography is like no one other.

It will make sense to you.

You will learn more about your camera and yourself.

People take great photos, NOT cameras

You CAN take great photos you just need to be shown the right way.

Taking a tour with Derry & Caro was one of the best decisions I made. Learning to photograph out in nature, using the local scenery & wildlife to create my images worked well for me. I learned how to use my camera and many of its functions and we were set tasks to see how well we had grasped the new concepts we had been shown. Derry was ever patient with our questions, and always encouraged us if we were not sure of the quality of our photo shots. She checked our worked, gave us new instructions and helped us to improve our photography each day. The tour itself was wonderful as we were taken around New Zealand’s pretty towns. Caro ensured we were well fed, had great accommodation and care was taken with driving us to and from our scenic stopping points. What a great team.
